ABOUT CREDIT ONE

Credit One Bank is one of the credit card issuers in the United States that is growing at the fastest rate. It was founded in 1984 and has its headquarters in Las Vegas. Credit One Bank offers a wide range of credit card products, including jumbo certificates of deposit and cash back and points-based cards. In addition, Best Friends Animal Society and the Las Vegas Golden Knights use Credit One Bank as their official credit card.

On July 30, 1984, Credit One Bank opened as a full-service bank in San Rafael, California, under the name First National Bank of Marin (FNBM). Until 1995, FNBM offered a diverse selection of products before shifting its focus to partially and fully secured credit cards. In June 1996, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), a bureau of the United States Department of the Treasury, granted FNBM a limited purpose designation. Limited purpose banks only offer a small selection of products. In November 1998, the bank relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, from San Rafael, California. On February 1, 2006, FNBM changed its name to Credit One Bank, N.A. and obtained CEBA status in March 2005.
