Macy’s, an American department store chain, sells high-end products. Rowland Hussey Macy founded it in 1858. It was founded as a division of the Cincinnati-based Federated Department Stores. This company is also affiliated to Bloomingdales department stores. The holding company was renamed Macy’s, Inc. in 1994. Macy’s was America’s largest retailer of department stores as measured by retail sales.

Macy’s main product lines include footwear and clothing for men and women as well as watches and jewellery, bags, accessories and home improvement. Clothing, footwear, and accessories are also available for children and babies.

If you buy something from Macy’s and find the exact same item in another shop for a lower price or the product is damaged, then you can cancel or return order.

Macy’s Order Cancellation policy

Macy’s allows customers to cancel online orders within 30 minutes of placing their order. After the 30-minute deadline has expired, customers have the option of rejecting delivery or accepting the product, then requesting a return.

You can return the product in-store or by mail within 90 days after purchase. Returnable products must be in their original, saleable condition with all original tags. Macy’s will credit the customer’s account with the full refund within 10 days after they receive the product returned at their warehouse/fulfilment center.

Customers who provide proof of purchase will receive a refund amount credited to their original payment source. If a customer doesn’t have proof of purchase, they will be eligible to receive a store credit. In both cases, shipping and delivery fees are non-refundable.

Changing Macy’s order

You have 30 minutes left to make changes after your order has been submitted.

  • Information about shipping such as name, address or phone number
  • Size or color of the item
  • Add or remove items.

Once an order is placed, the following information can’t be changed:

  • Method of payment
  • Information about billing such as name, address or phone number

You can request modifications to your order by contacting Customer Service at 800289-6229. If you make any changes to your order, it may be necessary to reauthorize your payment method. Please keep this handy.

Cancelling an online order

You have 30 minutes to cancel an order online, regardless of whether you’re logged in with your Macy’s account and/or checked out as a guest. If you don’t see an option to cancel, it means that your order has already been submitted and cannot be cancelled.

Sign in with your Macy’s Account

  • Click the Order Details hyperlink of the order that you want to cancel.
  • Click the Cancel order link from the Order Details webpage.
  • After the cancellation confirmation appears, click Yes to confirm that the order has been cancelled.
  • You will receive an email confirmation confirming that your order has been cancelled.

You can check out as a guest:

  • To view your order’s lookup, visit http://www.macys.com/purchases.
  • On the Order Details page, click the Cancel or link.
  • To confirm cancellation, click yes after the confirmation message appears.

Macy’s Return policy

We want you love the product you’ve purchased. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you can send it back by mail or in store within 90 days. Terms and Conditions apply. Items should be in original, sellable condition with all tags. Shipping and delivery costs are non-refundable.

Macy’s will take back any cosmetic or fragrance products that don’t meet your needs.

Return to Macy’s Store.

It’s free! You can bring your item(s), along with the receipt or packing slip, and the original form payment to any Macy’s Store.

How refunds are processed

  • If you have proof of purchase: You will receive a full refund in the original payment form if you have the original receipt, the credit cards you used for purchase, and your packing slip or return label.
  • It was an item of gift: A gift receipt, return label, or bridal registry number will allow you to get a credit in the form a store refund.
  • If you don’t have proof that you purchased, you may still be eligible to receive store credit for the item at the lowest price within the last 180 day.

An EZ Exchange Card, which can be used online or in-store like a Macy’s Gift Card, or Merchandise Certificate may be issued to store credit.

Within 10 business days of receipt of your return, we will credit your account. Sometimes it may take several days for activity to be posted to your account. If you make multiple payments, your credit account will be refunded the original amount charged. The remaining amount can be sent to your billing address as a Macy’s Happy Returns certificate or a Merchandise Only Certificate. This process usually takes between 2-4 weeks.
