Online Flight Cancellation

Firstly, go to the airline’s official website https://www.britishairways.com/travel/home/public/en_in/ and log in using your personal information.

  • Next, go to the cancellation page of the website and enter the booking name as well as your last name.
  • Car you will be taken to “manage British Airline Reservations” after you have selected the option.
  • Select Manage Reservations to open a list of options. Click Cancel to cancel your reservation with British Airways.

Refund policy

The GDS can process refunds for tickets that are within the fare restrictions of the ticket. For more information, consult your GDS.

All agents are reminded by bmi that all BD documents must be refunded to the original issuing agent in accordance with their original payment form. Any refunds for FOPs other than the original will be denied or deducted via ADM.

Tickets are non-refundable

If the fare rules say that the fare cannot be refunded, then only taxes can be returned under tax refund.

Combination of non-refundable and refundable fares

If a ticket contains a combination of a non-refundable fare and a refundable fare, IATA resolution 100 or 101 shall apply. These tickets are therefore non-refundable. Also, the YQ fee would not be refundable.

Refunds for documents that were partially used

A ticket that has been used in part will be refunded if the difference between the purchase price and the applicable fare is for the flight, less any applicable taxes and charges.

If the reassessed fare, including applicable taxes, is higher than the original paid fare, no refund will be given. A reservation class that is equal or greater than the partially used return ticket may be used to reassess an economy. Additional restrictions may apply to special OW fare such as: ADVP must be adhered to.

If the fair value for such a one-way fare is equal or lower than the original fare, unused taxes can be refunded.

* Refunds are allowed at cancellation penalty (percentage), and the same percentage will apply for YQ

* Refunds allowed at cancellation penalty (amount) are permitted. No penalty will be applied to YQ. The penalty will be applicable to the fare amount that is to be refunded.

* Unused YQ may be refunded if the applicable fare conditions are fully refundable.

Requests for refunds beyond the fare rules

You can apply online for a refund through the BSP link Refund application service if you want to request a refund for reasons other than the fare rules. This allows the bmi assess your application and approve or deny it accordingly.

Refunds may take up to four weeks to process.

Note that any ticket not used will be subject to a full or partial refund, depending on the fare rules, within three months of ticket validity.

How to Request Refunds

  • If you cancel or delay your connecting flight for five hours or more under the same booking reference and you decide not to travel to your destination, the operator carrier will arrange a return flight to the original point of departure as soon as possible. They will also refund any portion of your journey that was missed.
  • If you are able to prove that the journey did not serve any purpose, you may be eligible for a refund. This refund must be claimed at the same time that you claim a refund for parts of your trip you didn’t fly.
