ABOUT ADT
ADT Inc., formerly The ADT Corporation, is an American company that offers electronic security, fire protection, and other related alarm monitoring services to homes, small businesses, and large corporations all over the United States. The corporate headquarters are in Boca Raton, Florida.[3] Apollo Global Management purchased the business through a leveraged buyout in February 2016 for $6.9 billion.
Edward A. Calahan came up with a stock ticker in 1863, and in 1867, he set up the Gold and Stock Telegraph Company to make use of the technology. A messenger system for sending instructions to and from the stock exchange floor was also developed by Gold and Stock. A burglary in the president of Gold and Stock Telegraph Company’s home three years later prompted him to develop a telegraph-based alert system. 50 of his neighbors were eventually connected to a centralized station where all of the alert boxes were monitored by this system. In the 19th century, there were numerous small telegraph delivery businesses in the United States.
