This article will explain how to book Gate 1 Travel. It also provides information on cancelling and paying for travel.

How to Book

The online booking system for Gate 1 Travel is simple and quick:

  1. Select a Region. At the top of each page, you’ll find a list with regions (Examples: Europe, Asia/Pacific and Americas, Mediterranean, Africa and Cruises …). Click on the desired region to see a list with countries in that area.
  2. Select a Country. Click the name of the country you wish to visit, and a list will show.
  3. Select a Tour. Click the name of the country you wish to visit, and a list will display.
  4. Select a departure date. After you have selected a package, you’ll be taken to the Highlights page. Click on the Dates & Prices tab under the package title to choose a departure day. You can then view all available departure dates and book your reservation.
  5. Book. Book both Air & Land: Click on your desired departure date. In the Flight Details section, enter the necessary information including Departure City and Preferred Airline as well as # of adults and # of Children. These details will be automatically filled in. If you wish to make changes, only change these details. Next, fill in the Accommodation Details section with the necessary information, including the number of rooms, the number of adults, and the number of children. Click Continue.
  6. Book Land Only. Select your departure date. Select No. Next, fill in the Accommodation Details section with the required information, including the # of rooms, #of adults, and # of children. Click Continue.
  7. Choose Optional Tours (if available). A vacation itinerary will be displayed. Select the option tour that you wish to join from the box below. Next, select the number of people from the drop-down box to right.
  8. Select Flights (if relevant). While the first flight itinerary that pops up will be your best, there might be others. Click the Show Alternate Schedules button to view all flights. Next, select a flight itinerary. After you’ve selected your flight, click the Book button.
  9. Select Insurance & Shipping Options.
  10. Enter a promotion code (if applicable).

Finalize: Click the Continue to Contact & Billing Information Button to complete your reservation. Continue to enter your information. Next, you will be asked to enter information for all passengers and the Billing information. To continue with your reservation, please read carefully the Terms and Conditions. You will then be given a confirmation/reservation number and a confirmation will be sent via email. Keep this information for future reference.

CANCELLATION & PAYMENT:

Deposit:

At the time of booking, a non-refundable deposit must be made.
All reservations, except where otherwise noted: $200 per person.

The initial deposit does not cover premiums for Travel Protection (Insurance). Insurance premiums can be paid prior to final payment or with final payment. They become effective as of the date Gate 1 Travel receives payment.

You can pay earlier for special events, customized groups and/or Sea Cruise sailings if you have an invoice.

Late Payment:

Any outstanding balance after the Final Payment Due Date listed on your invoice will result in travel services being subject to cancellation and cancellation fees. To apply for reconfirmation, a $50 service reinstatement fee will be added to the invoice. This must be paid in advance.

Last-Minute:

Reservations must be made at least 15 days before departure. Payment will be refunded if requested services are not confirmed. All cancellation penalties applicable to services confirmed will be applied.

Method of Payment:

All due payments are in US dollars. Payments can be made by wire transfer, personal check, electronic check (echeck), wire transfer, major credit card or debit card. All payments must be made within 30 calendar days of departure by debit or credit card. Third-party credit cards will not be accepted. Wire transfer payments must be paid with an additional $25 fee. For electronic payments, there is an additional $35 fee for checks that are returned.

Refunds:

All refunds are made to the credit card(s), originally used to pay, up to the amount paid. Any balance remaining is paid by US Dollar Check.

Cancellation Airline Tickets:

After airfare has been purchased, either at the time of booking Instant Purchase Airfare tickets or at the time of making full payment for Gate 1 Airfare tickets, airline tickets are issued. Tickets are not refundable and subject to cancellation fees. The average airline fee is $300 per person, but they can be fully non-refundable. A cancellation that is the result of a tour suspension or Cancel For Any Reason waiver benefit will convert the ticket value into a Future Air Credit, which can then be used to book with another airline. The deadlines to cancel and rebook travel can vary from airline to airline. They may be up to 12 months after the original date of travel. While some tickets are non-refundable, they may retain their value and pay less in airline-assessed fees or non-refundable taxes. Others will lose all of their value.

Cancellation:

After a full or partial payment has been made, cancellations should be submitted in writing via the “Cancel Reservation” link on the Contact us page. Cancellation fees are calculated based upon the date of cancellation and the days before departure. The fees will be calculated as a percentage from the total amount received. This excludes Travel Protection, ticketed airfare, and previously assessed fees. Cancellation fees are not less than the non-refundable initial deposit.
