LA Fitness, also known as LA Fitness International LLC, is an American gym chain that has more than 700 locations across the United States. The company is established in 1984 at Irvine, California.
Chinyol Yi, founder of LA Fitness, and Louis Welch were the first to open it in Los Angeles in 1984. The company grew by purchasing underperforming clubs in Southern California and developing, opening, and operating new properties.
Cancel my Membership
You can cancel club memberships that have recurring dues by downloading a cancellation form online. Click on My LA Fitness. Log in, click on Account Information tab, then click on “Cancellation form” option at the right side. You can mail the form to the address on the form or send a written notice to PO Box 54170 Irvine, CA 92619-4170. It is best to mail the notice using certified mail. Keep a copy for your records. You can also deliver the notice to the Operations Manager at you nearest LA Fitness facility between 9AM-5PM Monday through Friday. The days and times for cancellations in-club are subject to change depending on the availability of the Operations Manager. You will need a receipt if you hand deliver the notice in person.
You will not be charged again if you cancel at least five business days in advance of your next billing date. You may be charged one additional time if you cancel within 5 business days. LA Fitness will reimburse any additional billing if this happens. Your cancellation will take effect if you are still within your initial term.
You can cancel your membership at any time. However, the extra time you are entitled to dues collected at enrollment will not be affected. Your last month’s prepaid dues will be applied after the month has been paid. Your membership will then expire at the end the prepaid last month. For assistance, contact your local club if your Personal Training membership is still in its initial term.
You have other options than just cancelling your membership. There are many clubs across the country that can help you relocate. Click on the Locations tab for a list of nearby clubs. You can also suspend your membership (“freeze”) for $10 per month. If your monthly dues exceed $10, you can “unfreeze” the club without having to pay an initiation fee. If you unfreeze during the middle of a monthly, you’ll be charged on a prorated basis for the days that remain in the month.
Access Online Cancellation Form:

Suspend my Membership
This is a great way for you to keep your membership at a lower cost. This works well if your membership is not going to be used for longer than 30 days (medical issues, gone for summer, etc.). Your monthly dues exceed $10.
Club Memberships:
Monthly dues members can suspend their memberships indefinitely for a $10 per month fee. The freeze will be effective for the next month’s billing if your next billing date falls within 10 days. If you choose to “unfreeze”, your membership, you’ll be charged the pro-rated amount for that month.
Paid-In Full members can suspend their memberships up to 6 months after paying a $35 freeze charge. Your membership expiration date will increase based on the time you suspend it.
Members who pay bi-weekly dues can suspend their memberships indefinitely for $5. Your freeze will take effect for the next bi-weekly billing if your next billing date falls within 10 days. If you choose to “unfreeze”, your membership, you’ll be charged the pro-rated amount for that bi-weekly period.
Weekly dues members cannot suspend their memberships.
Kids Klub memberships can be suspended indefinitely at no cost. To suspend a Kids Klub Membership, please contact your club.
