RadioShack was founded in 1921 as RadioShack Corporation. RadioShack had over 8,000 stores worldwide, including those called RadioShack (or Tandy Electronics) in the United States, Mexico and Australia. Its peak was 1999. Other than those territories, RadioShack licensed the brand name to other companies in Asia, North Africa and the Americas.
After suffering 11 consecutive quarter-end losses, RadioShack Corporation applied for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection under the United States bankruptcy law in February 2015. It was only operating in the United States and Latin America at the time.
RadioShack.com Return Policy
RadioShack.com wants you to be completely satisfied with all items you buy. RadioShack.com allows you to return most items within 30 days for a full refund, less shipping and handling charges. For products that are not covered by our return policy, please see the “Exceptions” section.
Important:
Except for a few exceptions, all returns will be refunded via an online credit redeemable at RadioShack.com. RadioShack will not reimburse shipping costs. We do not offer pre-paid returns labels. You are responsible for paying any shipping costs to return the item.
We ask that you return your item(s), in accordance with our online Return Policy.
- You must return the item(s) within 30 days from delivery.
- The item(s) must not have been used and be in like-new condition.
- All merchandise must be returned in their original packaging, with all accessories and paperwork.
- Returns without authorization from our Returns Center, or by contacting our Customer Care Team will incur a $10 processing fee.
Exceptions:
RadioShack.com does not accept returns on certain items. Online notices will indicate which items are not eligible for return. Items that are not refundable include:
- Resold, altered or tagged products will not be accepted.
- Software or kits that can be opened.
- Products for electronic media that aren’t defective (such USB thumb drives or memory cards)
- Personal care products, such as face masks and face shields.
- These products cannot be returned and are final sales.
- RadioShack.com does not sell products.
Domestic Returns (United States).
You can return or exchange your item by following these steps:
- Start by visiting our Returns Center at radioshack.com/returns and enter the email address used when you placed order.
- You must request to return the item(s) within 30 days from delivery or within our Return Policy.
- We do not provide pre-paid returns labels, but we will make every effort to help you pay the return shipping costs. Your refund amount will be reduced by the cost of returning shipping labels.
- An email will be sent to you with instructions for returning the item. Click “Start a return” to select the item you wish to return. Follow these instructions to print a return shipping tag.
- To ensure that your return is processed properly, please use the original shipping label. To ensure that your package is returned to us, keep the return tracking number.
- Any U.S. Post Office can accept your return. Once your package has been received by our warehouse, an email confirmation will be sent.
International Returns
RadioShack will not send you pre-paid returns labels if you decide to return the item. Shipping charges will be added to your account. Customers outside the United States cannot access our online Returns Center. Instead, please refer to the following instructions to return your order in accordance with our Online Return Policy.

Item(s), damaged or defective
RadioShack.com customer care representatives should be contacted immediately if you receive a defective or damaged item.
* Please provide the representative with your order number. Your email address and telephone number will be required by the representative.
RadioShack.com will assist you in your return.
* Defective items may be exchanged within 30 days of purchase, or the manufacturer’s warranty period. For assistance, contact Customer Care.
To expedite your assistance, please take a picture of any damage or defects.
RadioShack.com will issue store credit or replace any damaged or defective items.
Lost in Transit Items
Contact RadioShack.com Customer Care immediately if your tracking number indicates that the order was delivered but it has not been received.
* Contact the carrier to file a claim for lost or damaged items in transit. The representative will need your order number, item numbers, tracking numbers from your original confirmation email, as well as your claim number. Your email address and telephone number will be required by the representative. RadioShack.com will do everything possible to help you find a replacement, if it is available, or issue store credit.
Order Cancellations
Because we know that you want it as soon as possible, we strive to get all orders packed and shipped quickly. Once an order is placed, it cannot be cancelled. Please refer to our Return Policy
Return policy for in-store purchases
RadioShack stores are independent and independently operated. Locations may differ. For a copy their Return Policy, please contact your local shop. RadioShack.com is unable to accept returns on products purchased at RadioShack stores.
Returns at a RadioShack Retail Store
Note: RadioShack.com does not allow you to return items that were purchased online. For more information, please refer to the packing slip.
These are the basics:
- Use our Store Locator to locate the closest retail store.
- Place the item in its original packaging before you go to the store.
- Include the original packing slip along with your item. You can also bring the original packing slip or your online receipt if you don’t have it anymore.
- To ensure full credit, all products must be returned in a good condition in their original packaging, with all paperwork and parts.
- Bring the package to any RadioShack retail location.
- Your return will be processed by the store associate, and you will receive a credit. It will take approximately 10-15 business days for your credit to appear on the billing statement. Original shipping charges will not be refunded.
Returns via Mail
Note: Please be aware that items purchased in a RadioShack retail shop cannot be returned to us by mail.

- For specific information about returning items, please refer to the packing slip. These are the steps to take if you don’t have your packing slip.
- If possible, pack the item securely in its original packaging. Include the original packing slip for the return section with the item.
- To ensure full credit, all products must be returned in a good condition in their original packaging, with all paperwork and parts.
- All return shipping costs must be paid in advance C.O.D. cannot be accepted. deliveries.
- To obtain your Return Authorization number, contact RadioShack. Com’s Customer Service Department by calling 1.800.843.7422 (1.800.THE.SHACK). After you have received your Return Authorization Number, send the package to the address provided. We recommend using UPS or Insured Parcel Mail for your return.
- To ensure that your package is returned to the warehouse, keep the Return Tracking number.
- Within 10-15 business days of receiving the returned product, you can expect a refund in your original payment method. Incomplete returns may result in delays. You will not receive a refund for your original shipping charges.
