Returns

Most products can be returned in a new condition with all original packaging, including manuals and parts, along with your receipt.

Please refer to the following terms and conditions. The manufacturer’s warranty might apply if the item is used after the return period. For specific product information and proper handling, please consult your owner’s manual.

Refunds

The original payment method will be used to issue the gift receipt. A gift receipt can be exchanged for a gift voucher or refunded as a gift certificate. May require identification.

Sears Shop Your Way members now have 45 days to return most items purchased. 30 days for all delivered/installed products from date of delivery/installation and, 30 days from date of purchase for most products for non-members.

For returns, you can use your own shipping labels. You can also attach the packing slip that you received along with your purchase. Please indicate the item(s), quantity, and return reason code. We recommend using an insured and trackable shipping service if you have your own shipping label. You should securely pack the returned items using the original packaging.

You can have large and heavy items delivered to your house, such as appliances, mattresses, tractors, etc.

Delivery return fees

You cannot get a refund for delivery, labor, and/or installation costs.
If permitted by law, our delivery team will charge a pick-up fee to collect any returned mattresses, foundations or patio furniture.

A 15% processing/restocking fee is charged for mattresses, foundations, assembled/upholstered indoor furniture, water heaters & built-in home appliances.

If the item is returned because it is defective or incorrectly delivered, pick up and restocking fees are not applicable.

Kmart sells returns items

Sears sells Kmart products on our website. Kmart products cannot be returned unless they are returned via shipping or in person at a Kmart shop.

Returning Items Sold by a Marketplace Seller

Returns
Sears Marketplace products are sold by third parties (known as “Marketplace Sellers”), who sell the items through our websites and shopping apps. There may be different seller returns policies. The Marketplace Sellers’ return policies can be viewed on the Marketplace Sellers profile page. These Marketplace Sellers’ returns policies may differ from those of Sears or Kmart, but most Marketplace Sellers allow you to return your item in its original condition within 30 days of delivery. There are some exceptions. Some items cannot be returned (see “Non-Returnable Items” below), certain item returns have different time limits (see below “Time Limits”), and some items may have a restocking fee (see below “Fees”) Sears Marketplace products must be returned directly to the Marketplace Seller. Kmart and Sears cannot accept returns (see “Return Processing”) below.

Non-Returnable Items

This policy applies to all items, except the following:

  • Shoes and apparel that are missing labels or tags or worn.
  • The manufacturer’s warranty may be applicable for any item that is damaged or lost after delivery. For more information on claim handling and details, please refer to the manufacturer’s website or the product literature.
  • You can have custom, made-to-order, or personal items, such as jewelry.
  • Standby Generators for “Whole House”
  • Products for sexual wellness
  • Holiday products include but are not limited to Valentine’s Day and Easter, Halloween, Christmas, and other holidays that were purchased after the holiday.
  • Opened electronics, music, movies and software. If the item is damaged, you can exchange it for a similar item.

You may not be able to return items that are hazardous. Marketplace Sellers can help you with the return process. You may be able to return hazardous items such as batteries, flammable liquids and computer equipment.

Time limits

Except for refurbished Consumer Electronics, returns must be made within 30 days of delivery.
All items must be returned within 14 days after the Marketplace Seller authorized them to do so, except for holiday products such as Valentine’s Day or Easter or Halloween or Christmas products that must be sent or mailed before the holiday.
The item cannot be returned after the return period. However, the manufacturer’s warranty might still apply. For more information on claim handling and specific details, please refer to the product literature.

Fees

If the item is defective, incorrect or prohibited by law, there are no fees for returning or cancelling. In the following situations, fees may apply:

  • If a custom-made or personal item is returned more than one day after purchase, but before shipment, a cancellation fee up to 15% could be assessed.
  • A restocking fee of up to 15% may be charged for mattresses, foundations, assembled/upholstered indoor furniture, water heaters and built-in home appliances, and any opened consumer electronics, patio furniture, gazebos, canopies, pergolas, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, space heaters and grills.
  • For items not damaged in transit, a 15% restocking fee may be applied. This does not apply to small-package carriers such as UPS, FedEx Ground, USPS or FedEx Ground.
  • If a Marketplace Seller arranges to have a carrier pick up the item, a pick-up fee could be charged.
  • A Marketplace Seller can accept returns if an item is not returnable.

Return Processing

Before returning an item, the original buyer must request a return by contacting the Marketplace seller. Although the preferred method of ordering is online, the Marketplace Seller can be reached by email or phone. After the Marketplace Seller approves the return of the item, it must be returned in its original condition with all accessories and parts, along with the invoice/receipt.

Exchanges

Exchanges are generally not permitted, except were stated otherwise. An exception may be made by a Marketplace Seller if the items being exchanged have the same price.
