Return Policy
The Home Depot allows you to return most new, unopened merchandise within 90 days of purchase unless otherwise noted in our Return Policy. You have 365 days to return any purchase made using The Home Depot Consumer Credit Card or The Home Depot Commercial Revolving Credit Charge.
Purchases with proof of purchase can be returned. They will be exchanged, refunded cash, credited to your account, or refunded via The Home Depot store credit (“Store Credit”), as determined by The Home Depot. All refunds will be made to the original payment method (credit card, PayPal etc. Except as noted in our Return Policy Exceptions. All returns for purchases made using a gift card, or a store credit will be refunded in the form of a store credit.
We may be able locate your receipt if it is lost. Within 30 days of purchase, receipts for purchases made by credit card, debit card, or check can be found in our system. Within 365 days after purchase, receipts for purchases made using The Home Depot Consumer Credit Card or The Home Depot Commercial Revolving Charge, or The Home Depot Commercial Account, may be found in our system.
If The Home Depot makes an error, the original shipping costs will be fully refunded. There may be exceptions (including Express Delivery or Major Appliance). To receive a full refund, items must be returned in their entirety.
On request, written copies of The Home Depot’s Return Policy can be obtained.
RETURN TO THE STORE For non-receipted and Store Credit returns, we require a valid driver’s license or government-issued picture identification. Home Depot uses third-party refund verification systems. All returns must be approved by the verification system.

RETURN TO THE HOME DEPOT DESIGN CCENTER Items purchased from The Home Depot Design Center are not eligible for return. You cannot return products purchased at homedepot.com, or in our warehouse stores. Only products purchased from The Home Depot Design Center may be returned to The Home Depot Design Center.

Online Return Options Return to the Store:
Homedepot.com items can be returned to any one of our retail locations nationwide. However, we ask customers to refrain from returning in-store purchases at this time to help limit store traffic.
- Credit will be issued in store at the time of return, and there will not be any return shipping fees. *
- Please bring along a copy of the bar-coded shipping confirmation email and the credit card used for the purchase to speed up your return.
By Mail:
You can mail your return using the small parcel return label that is included with most UPS and Fed Ex orders. Alternativly, you may arrange for your return yourself using the address on the return label. **

- If the return is due to an error made by Homedepot.com, the shipping charges will be borne by the customer.
