These guidelines (“Original Receipt”) will be followed for items returned with an original register receipt or e-Recept.
- You will receive a cash refund if you pay with cash or a check that was written more than 10 business days ago.
- You will be issued a Return Card by Office Depot OfficeMax if you pay with a check less than 10 days old or with an Office Depot OfficeMax gift card. This will be returned within 3-4 weeks.
- You will get a refund if you pay with a debit or credit card. This is based on the processing time of your bank.
- You will get a refund if you pay with a credit or debit card based on the processing time of your card company.
- You will receive a check refund if you have paid with an Office Depot OfficeMax Rewards certificate. This usually takes 3-4 weeks.

Online or in-store purchases are accepted. Simply bring your item(s), along with your original receipt, to any one of our 1,001+ stores. You will be able to exchange or receive a refund within the timeframe. You don’t need a receipt? No problem! With a valid ID, many items can be exchanged or returned in-store. Return by mail
Online orders can be accessed by going to their order history and selecting the order that you wish to return. You can choose the item you wish to return or exchange, print a free return label, and drop off your item at any carrier. To process your return/exchange by mail, you will need to have an online account. Please see the following for information regarding our return policy.
