IKEA, a Swedish multinational conglomerate, is based in the Netherlands. If you order from IKEA and you are unhappy with the product or if it is damaged, you can return the order, IKEA Support Order Cancellation, Exchange and Return.

Return policy

You can return any IKEA product, new or unopened, within 365 days of receiving it, along with proof of purchase. Open products can also be returned within 180 days with proof of purchase.

Market-specific removal and pick-up services for customers’ homes are available. If Pick-up is available in your locality, please bring your product directly to your covered porch or garage.

We cannot accept returns on cut fabric, custom countertops, and plants… If your merchandise is damaged, altered, stained or dirty from the original form it was purchased, we cannot exchange or refund your item.

Additional information about the return policy

  • To return or exchange your product, you must have your receipt. Your ID information will be stored in a company database that can only be used to authorize returns.
  • All refunds will be issued in the original form of payment used for the purchase. What do I do if my item gets damaged? We may be able ship replacement parts to you if only one item is damaged. We recommend that you visit an IKEA store along with your order confirmation and receipt to get the problem resolved quickly. If this is not possible, please call the IKEA US Customer Support Centre at 1-888-888-4532.
  • You can exchange your mattress purchase for another one within 90 days.
  • Refunds will only be given for the net amount paid as indicated on the receipt. IKEA Planning Studio and IKEA Pick Up Point locations do not accept returns. Customers whose nearest IKEA Queens store is not convenient for them should return their items to that IKEA store.
  • Promotional Terms and Conditions: If a promotional item that was part of the original transaction is not returned by the customer, the value will be deducted from any refund.

How do you return?

IKEA has a 365-day return policy. However, we will consider your closing period if your return period expires soon.

Instructions for Return:

  1. As proof of purchase, print a copy of any of the following:
  • Receive a receipt from the store.
  • Order Number

2. Place the item(s), along with proof of purchase, in a sealed container or package.

3. Send your package to:

  • To send your item(s), you can use any parcel service provider. IKEA does not charge transport fees for items that are returned.
  • Your package should be labeled IKEA RETURNS OFFICE and addressed to IKEA Store Location*.
  • Please visit IKEA USA.com to find the nearest location. Click on Find an IKEA Shop’ at the bottom of the homepage. Enter your ZIP code and click on Get Directions’.
  1. Please take note that you must fill out the left section of the IKEA return label with your name, address and ZIP code.
  2. Your package will be subject to IKEA’s Delivery Terms and Conditions once it arrives at the nearest IKEA Store.
  3. After your return has been received by IKEA, please allow 7-10 business day for it to process.

*Customers who live near an IKEA store in Queens should address their return to IKEA Brooklyn.
