Sometimes, you may order something that you find elsewhere or that is less expensive. If you aren’t satisfied with your order, you can cancel it or return it.

Amazon Cancellation Policy

Amazon orders can be safely cancelled after it has been shipped from either the seller or the warehouse. Once your order is shipped, you have two options: cancel (chances of success are lower) or refuse to receive the package once it arrives at your home.

In general, refunds for cancelled Amazon US orders are processed within 3-5 business days. Refunds to your Amazon Gift Balance are processed immediately within 2 to 3 hours. Refunds to credit cards can take up 5 business days while debit cards can take up 10 business days.

Cancel Orders and Items on Amazon

You can cancel orders or physical items that are not yet in the shipping process. This page doesn’t include information on cancelling Amazon Prime or other digital subscriptions.

  1. You can cancel your order by going to Orders.
  2. Select Cancel Items Please Note: To cancel order, please see Request Cancellation. For instructions, contact the seller if you don’t see Request cancellation. Go to Contact third-party sellers.
  3. Check the box for the item you wish to delete from your order. Select all items to cancel your entire order.
  4. Select cancel certain items in this order after it is complete.

Confirm your order has been cancelled:

You’ll see a confirmation message after you submit the cancellation. A message will also be sent to your account in the Messaging Center.

You can also confirm that your order has been cancelled by visiting the Canceled Orders Section in Your Orders.

Cancel Items is not available:

Amazon might have shipped the order already if you don’t see Cancel items. You can cancel this delivery by going to Orders.

If you are unable to choose this option, refuse the package and return it via our Online Returns Center.

Get a discount on bundled items:

Customers can purchase multiple items or groups at a discount price by purchasing discounted bundles. Items purchased as part a discounted bundle cannot be cancelled individually. You can cancel any item in the bundle but not all other bundle items.

Most items purchased between December 11 and 25, 2022, can be returned up to January 31, 2023, for the Holiday Season 2022.

Amazon Returns Policy

You can return items purchased from Amazon.com including Amazon Warehouse within 30 days of delivery. There are some exceptions.

  • You can find information on products that cannot be returned at Products that Can’t Be Returned.
  • Locate the product type to determine if Amazon.com offers a longer return period. Our standard 30-day returns policy applies if the product type is not listed.
  • Although most sellers offer the same returns policy as Amazon, there may be some differences. If the seller’s listing qualifies for Amazon Prime, it will be subject the same return policies that Amazon.com items. Returns To Third-Party Sellers has more information.

Return Items or Order

Many eligible Amazon.com items can be returned. You may have different options when returning an item depending on the seller, item or reason.

Return eligible items you have ordered:

  1. To view your most recent orders, go to Orders to return a gift go to Return A Gift.
  2. Select the order you wish to return or replace.
  3. Choose the item that you wish to return. Next, select a reason for returning the item.
  4. You can choose how you want to process your return. You’ll see the Submit return request button for items purchased from Amazon sellers. Before issuing a replacement or refund, the Amazon seller will review your return request.   5.  Choose your preferred return method
  6.  Print the return label and authorization.
  7.  If applicable, add your return label and pack your items for return.
